Time Line

1230 - 02 - 04   Ranulf Fitz Rufus returns to London from a diplomatic mission to York. He is knifed to death by an unknown assailant posing as a beggar. The attacker steals a banal lettter of diplomatic greeting from Robert Tanner, Prince of York, to Mithras. Mithras orders Ranulf to investigate. Ranulf decides to visit the Tremere Chantry, and then the Mages at the Night's Bridge Chantry
1230 - 02 - 05   Ranulf Fitz Rufus meet Eloise de l'Orne escaping through a window en route to her father's house, and they strike up a lively conversation. Discovering that Eloise needs a place to stay to a few days so she can think, away from her grandmother's influence, Ranulf takes her to Chalice of Mercia's shop.
1230 - 02 - 06   Ranulf Fitz Rufus visits Adam Bell at the Lazar-House of St. Giles, and meets Atanasio Castellon. He takes Atanasio with him to Fleet Prison to be Presented to Mithras
Mithras sends a message to Leon St Gabriel, asking him to assist in the investigation into the attack on Ranulf. Leon goes to the Fleet Prison, and meets with Ranulf and Atanasio. After Atanasio is Presented to Mithras, a report arrives of another body, stabbed in the same way as Ranulf, which is being brought to the Fleet Prison for examination.
Shortly thereafter, word reaches Fleet Prison that the second body has revived and fled. Don Leon leads a party in pursuit
On the road to London, Eirik Haraldsson, Megan of Bristol, Marc de Brabant, and Iain Grendel find a body which they at first believe to be Ranulf Fitz Rufus. The Undying Amisi Senusnet find them examining the body. She recognizes the device on the man's surcote as that of the d'Aquila family, which was driven out of Outremer for allegedly consorting with unspecified dark forces
They take the body to Adam Bell at St. Giles for a Christian burial, but Eirik discovers that he is unable to carry the corpse into the sanctified ground of the church. Amisi casts a spell to perceive the body's last moments, and discovers that it holds the spirit of another man, one who was slain during some kind of magical ritual bearing a superficial resemblance to the Spell of Life. While the party is examining the body in Adam's workroom, it revives, identifying itself as Fulke d'Aquila.
Under pressure, Fulke admits that he serves a group he calls the "Followers of the Prophecies of Acre", who suborned the d'Aquila family shortly after they arrived in the Holy Land. He was given immortality in an undead body as a reward for his many years of loyal service to their cause. The body he now inhabits belogs to his cousin, Emeric, who was killed for attempting to betray the Followers. Emeric was seeking sanctuary with a Tremere called "Artos" in London. Fulke's orders were to pose as Emeric and find out why Artos was interested in the Followers, and how much he already knew about them
During the conversation, he refers to the elaborate dagger used to kill both Emeric and Ranulf
Ranulf arrives at St. Gilles and discusses the situation with Amisi and the Cainites. They speculate on whether Ranulf's recent murder was a case of mistaken identity, given Ranulf's resemblence to the late Emeric
Eloise sneaks out of Chalice's shop to visit her sister. On her way back, she is intercepted by three footpads, and rescued by Artos bani Tremere - "Arthur the Lame". Arthur escorts her back to Chalice's shop
