The year is 1230...

... and the various supernatural communities of England are still licking their wounds from the so-called War of Avalon, a chaotic, multi-front conflict which saw Mages, Cainites, and demon-worshipers war with themselves and each other, while the newly formed Inquisition pursued a campaign of extermination against all. A peace now prevails, but it's a tense, uncertain peace, sustained more because none of the factions can afford any more losses than because any great degree of peace and understanding has developed between them.
